My name is David Fleming. I live in Madison, AL with my wife, Andrea, and 3 children. I have been involved in soccer now for 7 years and coaching for 5 years. I grew up in a small town in northwest Alabama where I played football, baseball, and basketball. I joined the United States Air Force in 1996 after graduating from high school where I served for 4 years. I returned home to Alabama in 2001.
I began coaching my son, Riley, in 2017 when he was 7 years old playing recreational soccer in Madison. After he decided to play other sports I chose to continue by coaching my daughter, Taylor, in her second season of recreational soccer, in 2019. I have been her coach in some capacity since then. I have not experienced many feelings more fulfilling than helping her and her teammates achieve their goals on the pitch. I strive to treat each girl on the team as if they are my own daughter. We work toward personal development through one on one technical skills, personal accountability, leadership, and team unity. We focus on treating each other with respect and treating the game with the respect it deserves. I believe if we focus on these attributes we will not only develop a strong 2013 girls soccer team, we will also develop strong young women with bright futures.
While I admit that I do not have the extensive background in soccer that many have. I do have a strong desire to achieve all that we can achieve, an extensive knowledge of what it takes to improve every day, and how to develop a team. I have studied this game thoroughly for the past 6 years. Matter of fact I am currently in the process of receiving a D-License for coaching. This should be completed by the end of 2022. My knowledge in other sports along with becoming a student of the game of soccer and surrounding myself with those that do have an extensive history of the game will ensure that we will consistently set goals and achieve them. My personal commitment to this team is that I will never stop growing and learning how to be a better coach. I look forward to being the head coach of the Madison Blaze 2013 girls team and I thank you for the opportunity to coach your daughter. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. GO BLAZE!!
